The OT Circus proudly presents: “and time moves on…” a First Friday solo pop up show featuring the incredible photography of Chikiyo Jackson. ( www.imminentphotography.com )
Here are some words from Mr. Jackson, about this retrospective exhibit, and about him:
“There are those among us who are compelled to express their inner torments; find a relief from their mysterious dwellings, persistent dreams, unrelenting thoughts, and anxious urges. For some, these pangs manifest as creative expressions in the form of music, writings, paintings, and other works (photography). The images I will be exhibiting for “as time moves on…” are my attempt to illustrate a few of these personal abstractions.
Thanks for coming. Thanks for your time! Hmmm…about the artist: a man, a human, me. I am unique, just like everybody else 😉 A practitioner of many talents, a master of none. I’ve always been intrigued by the wide range of emotions available in the experiences life offers to us all.
Photography is my attempt to capture an ever small portion of this phenomenon. My attempt to quantify the numerous intangible events and ideas which words fail to describe… From the first time I picked up a camera, I found it to be a creative time machine, which lets us both revisit moments from the past and illuminate our imaginations. Photographs have always intrigued me – be it from 1st hand experiences, or a glimpse into an unfamiliar place and time through someone else’s eye. Each of our lives is a unique series of ripples in the pond of time. Photography, be it professional or amateur, is a means of creating a collage of those “ripples” we commonly refer to as life.”
