About the show: A show of emerging artists, taking a leap into the art scene of Albuquerque. They come with creative adventures, heart and spirit you can see in their art. Together they will create a world of magic and mystery. While they have the way for other like them. Welcome to the “Decadent Imagination: Achieving and Undermining the Status Quo”.
About the artists:
Megan Teeters is a self taught watercolor artist. She began her journey 3 years ago in Albuquerque, New Mexico seeking an outlet from her anxiety disorder. Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, she comes from a large family of artists. She grew up surrounded by a world of dreams and contrast. She learned she too carried the Creator Gene and found that safe place in her work.
Her pieces are vibrant with beautiful color and deep with thought provoking patterns and shapes. The animals speak of a primal relationship and dance within the swirls of paints. She creates not a world she knows, but a world she wants to see, a world she wants to live in, far away from her own dark demons that fuel her creative conquest.
Abel Lopez is an Albuquerque based artist who specializes in lettering, cartoon/nerd-related themes, and melting ice cream cones. My preferred mediums are spray paint, acrylic paint, and India ink detailing pens.
Daniel Ortiz was born in Las Vegas, NM and currently lives in ABQ. He identifies as a llama and spits when irritated or displeased. He is a part-time artist, full-time fool. His artwork has been featured on horrorsleazetrash.com and can be found in bathroom stalls across America.
